Term 1 Week 5 Reflections 🐼
Hello. Week 5 was full of new things.
On Monday, I learned what the school production was about. It is called Smithy. Smithy is a real naughty boy. He is a rascal, but he falls in love with a good girl. He soon finds out about a school play called Romeo and Juliet. He tries to audition for Romeo because he knows that Romeo gets to kiss Juliet who is being acted by his crush. I a going to audition for the part, Smithy. Because I know that I am good at acting and I am good at singing.
On Tuesday, it was our boating session. It was loads of fun and I learned lots. Like, that life jackets were also made to keep you warm, not just keep you afloat, I learned other ways to swim downstream safely like swimming backwards and swimming onto freestyle when there was land close by. It was quite fun.
On Wednesday, we did some more work on our explanation writing. It is about the wonders of the natural world, the ancient world, the modern world, and the medieval world. I am doing my writing on Mt Everest of the natural world. I have included information about its formation, its age, its height, its closest competitors to match its height, and its first ascent. Did you know that it was Edmund Hillary of New Zealand who was the first man to reach the top of Mt Everest?
On Thursday, we did a normal day. Band, Jazz Band, but then I went to Rock Band callbacks. This callback was about stage presence. Stage presence is about connecting with the audience and engaging with them. Making them feel part of the performance. Just before I started publishing this blog post I checked and I made it into Rock Band. But, I am the only male vocalist to make it in.
On Friday, it was Inter-house swimming sports. In swimming sports, Te Wehi from Waipa house, (the best house) broke 3 consecutive records. I was in every non-champ race because I chose to and I wanted Waipa to win. Just before the relays, there was the first bomb comp. This was a Bomb competition. I wasn't in it but it was funny to watch. Then came the relays. The first relay was the Yr 7 girls. Waipa won. Then was the Yr 7 boys. Puniu won that. Then was the Yr 8 boys. Good thing we won that one. And then was the Yr 8 girls. It was a clean sweep for Waipa. So in the end Waipa won. YAY!! 😆😂
