Term 1 Week 11

Wow. This week has been fun. The highlights were Camp at Narrows Park and P.C.

On Monday, I sadly did not attend school because I had a case of "the runs," or Diarrhoea.

On Tuesday, I came back to school to see it was a Mufti Day. Luckily my brother had reminded me the day before, so I came prepared. First, we did Tech Arts. I think my truck is coming along nicely. I finally used the Bench Saw to drill the wheels, but I just need to file them now.
After Interval, I then did maths. We are doing geometry at the moment. I have never been perfect at geometry so I hope I learn lots. So far I have learnt how to use a protractor, how to use a compass to draw circles, triangles, and to bisect an angle.
After lunch, it was time for P.C. It was time to learn and face the "Ugly Truth" of body changes.
So I caught up on what had happened the day before and learned information not to be spoken about in real life or the internet so I will not elaborate.

On Wednesday, my class, Room 3 and Room 7 had the privilege of going to Narrows Christain Camp for 3 days. First, we learned where most of the things were. Then we did orienteering around just about the whole park. Then we had Morning tea. After that, we did our first activities. I did Go Karting first. I thought it would be really fun, but as soon as saw the track I thought to myself, I hope that we get 5 laps each for a turn, but I only got 3. As soon as I hopped in the Go kart, I thought again This is actually going to be really fun! but then I realised that this guy called "Taya" got 10 laps! Next was Archery. I thought this was really fun. I got a red on my second to last shot. Next was the water slide. The water slide was HUGE! I went down the first time kinda slow at first but then I picked up extraordinary amounts of speed and made a big splash. (Even though I am only 34 kgs.)
Next was Trolleys. I thoroughly enjoyed this activity because of my ability to be "Accident Prone" so first off I raced down the hill and turned too fast to the right and went on my left two wheels for about 5 seconds. And it gets better. I went down the big hill and people (Including my Mum) told me to go left but I went too far left and went up one bank then down and up the other bank and I tumbled into a blackberry bush. OUCH! Next was BMX. I found this messy, but enjoyable enough to be really good. I won most races except for the last one. I had to pair up with someone to the opposite ability to do a relay with. So I followed that rule but no-one else did. So we came last. Tonight was the Burma-Trail so I kept really quiet, but it seemed as if, again, no-one else did. I couldn't hear myself think over the screams of lots of girls mostly. After that, it was bedtime so I went back to the chapel and read for about half an hour and then went to sleep.

Now, on Thursday, I first had breakfast, then went to the Air-Rifles. This was really fun, it's really harder than it looks. It is powered by air, not gunpowder if you were wondering. So it doesn't shoot loud. I didn't get anything good because I'm not that good at that sort of stuff. After Air-Rifles, I had Morning Tea. Then team activities. I found this quite boring since no-one would listen to me so I shall not elaborate. Then lunch and another chance to go on the water slide. I took this opportunity and had lots of fun. Mum made Raiha and I do a train. I got hit mid-air and landed in pain. Next was the fire challenge. This was really fun. I went with Josh and Jake. First, we had to fill a cup with water from the drain, then place the cup on a platform and let it balance for 5 seconds. Then walk through thick mud. While moving a metal circle through an electrical wire. Then try and get a box of matches from a distance of 3 metres. Last but not least, light a fire and try to get to burn a string to send a stick up. Then cook our afternoon tea, which was damper. Next, we played a game called Predator/Prey. This is a game kinda like Capture the Flag. The rules are... there are 4 groups. Herbivores, Omnivores, Carnivores, and Disasters. The majority of the people were herbivores including me. There were 5 disasters, some carnivores, and some omnivores. The aim of the herbivores game was to get all the food stations and all the water stations and not get eaten 10 times. Unfortunately, I got injured and couldn't run very well. And so I got eaten before I got all the stations. So I failed. Dinner was nice.I enjoyed dessert. I just wish I could get seconds for dessert. Then we got to go down and have a campfire. We also sang songs and had a lot of fun. Then it was time for skits. Although I did not have a skit of my own, I still enjoyed watching them. Then it was time for bed.

Today is the last day. It's Friday. First off I had a BIG, HUGE breakfast. I grabbed a bowl twice the size of the normal bowl and filled it twice. (I didn't eat lunch after that.) Next was paintball. This was slingshot paintball so it was hard. I had also never played paintball before, so, even harder. First, we played Last Man Standing. I, of course, did not win. then we did a Team Deathmatch. P.E team 1 vs P.E team 2. I can not remember who won. But we only had an hour. So while Room 7 were doing paintball, I just talked with friends. Then we had lunch. Like I said earlier, I did not eat lunch, well, I kinda lied. I ate my biscuit and drunk some ginger ale. Then I went into the pool. This was freezing. So I hopped out and got changed. I actually broke the rules. So Mrs. Crowe, please don't growl me but I took my Panini home. So after I got changed from the pool, it was time to go home. We thanked the staff and thanked the people from Narrows for letting us stay here. Then I went home. Bye.
