Week 6 is finally here! Lot's have happened this week and here is some of it. On Monday it was a normal school day. But after school, we found out a little bit about our Makuhari student that we were going to have stay in our home. His name is Asuki and he is 15 yrs old. On Tuesday, we had a normal Tuesday. On Wednesday, we had a normal Wednesday. We did English, then Maths, and then Jump Jam. On Thursday, Asuki finally arrived. He is very tall and he is very interesting. I can't wait for what is coming in the future with his stay. On Friday, we held a Powhiri for the Makuhari students to welcome them into our school. All of the students were very happy and nervous to be at the powhiri. Those were my Week 6 reflections.

Hello. Week 5 was full of new things. On Monday, I learned what the school production was about. It is called Smithy. Smithy is a real naughty boy. He is a rascal, but he falls in love with a good girl. He soon finds out about a school play called Romeo and Juliet. He tries to audition for Romeo because he knows that Romeo gets to kiss Juliet who is being acted by his crush. I a going to audition for the part, Smithy. Because I know that I am good at acting and I am good at singing. On Tuesday, it was our boating session. It was loads of fun and I learned lots. Like, that life jackets were also made to keep you warm, not just keep you afloat, I learned other ways to swim downstream safely like swimming backwards and swimming onto freestyle when there was land close by. It was quite fun. On Wednesday, we did some more work on our explanation writing. It is about the wonders of the natural world, the ancient world, the modern world, and the medieval world. Hello. Sorry I have not been posting on this blog and I hope to post more in the future. On Monday, I learned who the house captains were. I applied but was not picked. Instead my best friend moved to my house and got the role. I am proud for him. I also learned who got Class Councillor. And I did some revision on Place Value. On Tuesday, Room 3 learned that beating Room 13 in Danish Rounders is not the easiest. In the end we actually lost. (1-nil) ☹ On Wednesday, I learned how to round and estimate again and this time I think I have got it. Estimation is used when a question can round to even numbers to simplify the question and hopefully it will be close to the actual question. On Thursday, I learned that playing a cornet is actually slightly harder than playing a trumpet in the symphonic band. I like my new cornet though. In brass band I learned that playing the song 'Shut up and dance with me' is not impossible if you have the lower music. On Friday, I learned how...

This post is for the new year 7's that have started T.A.I and to show how things are for the beginning of 2017. I am having fun with this year and so much has happened already. I am excelling in the trumpet and have started the Te Awamutu Brass band, I am getting better at handing work in on time, and in Tech Arts we are already getting started on our sweatshirts. Things have changed over the holidays at T.A.I. And it is good.

Sorry, I have not been writing lately but I am now so please be grateful. :) . On Monday, I had an assembly (as usual), then we did some English. After Interval, we had A.L.C time and we played football. Sorry, this wasn't our game. But I almost did a high air kick. Almost as good as this but not quite. Almost no one saw it but this is how I remember it. After lunch, we just did some math. YAY On Tuesday, we started Music tech. This so far is really fun. I am learning things on the keyboard, on the ukelele and learning some history of music. I am looking forward to learning about different types of music. Like forte, staccato, and so on. After the interval, I think we did some math and after lunch, I forgot what we did. But, after school, I found out that for my category, I got second in the science fair. Hi. This week was pretty normal except for Monday and Tuesday. Because Mrs Crowe was away on a course. On Monday, we had Mr McCabe. He talked about all the fish that's probably going to die in 20-30 years, and how the polar bears are going to die because of global warming melting the ice in 20-30 years. And even about how some countries having no toilets. Anyway, that made us lose our volleyball time. So after that, we carried on with our work. On Tuesday, we had tech arts. We missed out on the last Friday's session, so we had to start behind everyone else. We were doing the marble challenge. This is when you build a freestanding track out of cardboard and keep a marble rolling for 20 seconds. We are doing good. If good is 10% finished. After Interval, we had another teacher. I forgot her name and now I feel bad about it. Anyway, we did some work until about 12:05. Then she taught us a game. We were split up into 6 teams.
